Dr. Wang receives funding for research

Dr. Wang has received funding from the NIOSH Pilot Projects Research Program for his research in confined space evacuation. (7/2014)

Dr. Wang receives award from the National Science Foundation (NSF)

Dr. Qingsheng Wang, along with his collaborator from Texas A&M University, was recently awarded a 3-year grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF/CBET) to develop new fire retardant polymer nanocomposites.  Highly flammable polymers have frequently been used in home construction, resulting in polymeric fires causing many deaths and extensive property losses.
 

Dr. Larrañaga elected to the Texas Tech Academy of Industrial Engineers

Congratulations to Dr. Larrañaga, who was elected to the Texas Tech Academy of Industrial Engineers and became a Texas Tech Distinguished Industrial Engineer. (4/2013).

Dr. Wang named Big 12 Faculty Fellow

Dr. Qingsheng Wang, Assistant Professor of Fire Protection & Safety in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, has been awarded a 2012 Big 12 Faculty Fellowship to collaborate with colleagues at Texas A&M University (TAMU) in College Station, TX. Dr. Wang will work with Regents Professor Sam Mannan and Associate Professor Zhengdong Cheng from the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at TAMU on a project involving fire retardant materials.
